How to choose web hosting

Seven questions worth asking before you buy.

Hosting affects how fast and how reliably your website loads, and so how visitors experience your business. Before choosing a plan, work through these questions.

1. What kind of site do you have?

A small brochure site has different needs from an online shop or a site with many visitors. Estimate how many pages, images and visitors you expect, then pick a plan accordingly — don't undersize it, but don't pay for resources you won't use.

2. Disk and server speed

NVMe storage is considerably faster than traditional disks. VAMAS hosting uses NVMe storage on servers in European data centres, which suits users in North Macedonia and the region.

3. Security and backups

  • SSL certificate — HTTPS should be standard; at VAMAS it is free and renews automatically.
  • Daily backups — if something goes wrong, you can restore an earlier version.
  • Attack protection — ask what is included in the plan.

4. E-mail on your domain

Check whether e-mail is included and how many mailboxes you can have. Every VAMAS plan includes business e-mail.

5. Support in a language you understand

When a site is down you need a quick answer. VAMAS offers 24/7 support in Macedonian and English at [email protected].

6. Look at the whole price

Ask what the plan costs on renewal, not just in the first year, and what is included. VAMAS plans are currently Starter (990 MKD/year), Business (1,990 MKD/year) and Pro (2,990 MKD/year) — always check the hosting page for current prices and plan contents.

7. Is moving easy?

If you already have a site elsewhere, ask whether migration is included. We do it without downtime for your site and without losing e-mail.
